Review on Enhanced SunFounder Raspberry Touchscreen 7" - 1024×600 Capacitive, IPS, HDMI, HD by Roger Brooks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great monitor, small ergonomic problems

Very easy to assemble. Great and well illustrated guide. Providing a small Phillips screwdriver is a nice touch. A much better display than the official one from the Raspberry Pi organization. Outstanding quality and performance for the price. You can upscale this to a very high resolution if you wish. This is perfect for my portable ham radio. At 1600x900 I found it difficult to read, although more applications could be displayed. For me, the optimal resolution was 848x480. Openbox used to add some virtual desktops to restore the screen area with a lower resolution. Why not 5 stars in the overall rating? To keep the display tilted back at an easy-to-read angle, you're provided with a sturdy stand that's about 2 inches long and screws into the back from the inside. This makes it awkward to slip a gear pouch in as the stylus sticks out. A stand would be a better choice. I found an inexpensive universal tablet stand at Revain for $11.99 that folds and holds this display well.
