This is not the best tool. It always returns in a tight spiral, never to straighten out. I slowly massaged it with light heat and even tried heating it with a low temperature heat gun to loosen it. It broke the fifth or sixth time I used it. waste of money. You can purchase a 3- or 4-foot tie at Home Depot, which is better suited for this purpose. Don't waste money if you don't plan on keeping it in your tool box.
