I like it - it works well - although it's hard to pinpoint the angle - they say the bottom angle is already 15* - so you need this to what add They took the lead but I checked my device with the alignment app and it showed the floor was only about 9* so I don't know if the app is off or the device is different? I tested the application at a known level, the difference was only 2 degrees. Anyway - I went with the advertised angle of 15* and then added 3* to get 18 but wow - it was so low it scratched the plate the knife is held on - somewhat true not - I raised my hand higher than calculated to be 25* and this gave the blade a pretty good angle - it came very sharp - The stones that come with the device appear to be quite soft - especially the 600s. Seems much softer than other 600 grit stones I have. All in all, this is a great sharpener. I like it more than lansky because the stones are bigger which makes it easier to work with the blade. Stones are cheap enough although they can be changed every few years - I also bought diamonds - to do a 600 diamond cut instead -
