When I ordered this I thought it was a thick fleece, it is actually a lightweight fleece. I was a little disappointed, but then it turned out to be really useful. It's perfect for layering, it's light and soft, my son likes to wear it, the fleece itself is quite warm, you can add a vest or other jacket when you go out. I've washed it several times and it's still soft and looks beautiful.
