Review on πŸ’» Desktop Connector Adapter for SDS Microphone by Robert Moloney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The HD audio section of this faceplate was dead on arrival, but the replacement was almost a success.

Another (latest) update: I got a replacement and it supports HD Audio (no headset jack auto-detection - it's part of the HD Audio standard, which allows you to disable the rear audio jack once). They have headphones plugged into the front panel - but I can live with that). I increase my rating to "4" for both the exemplary service quality (in the person of Simon) and the almost full functionality of the front panel. Addendum: I received a comment from the seller (secure4u) that they consider the device I received to be defective and that they are willing to send me a replacement. I'm increasing my customer service rating to 2 (submitted by Simon). HD Audio Ports Not Working: The microphone port is not working and the audio out port does not support detecting the HD audio port. and jack remapping features (allowing you to switch the audio stream from the speakers to the front panel after plugging a headset into the front panel jack). Since this behavior was exhibited by my old AC97 audio front panel (integrated into the PC case) connected to my new motherboard's pure HD audio audio device, I suspect that this front panel is indeed the AC97 audio specification and not HD audio supports spec. So if you're buying this front panel for HD audio (like I assumed) it can be risky.
