This DVR does what it's supposed to for the price. The last one I bought in this price range always set the date back to January 1st, making it almost impossible to find the right video file. This one didn't cause me any problems. I connected it to the fuse with the kit and it turns on when I start the car. The suction cup mount for the front camera is just great. It has a twist lock mechanism that keeps things in place. With my last camera I had to glue it in place. This camera is holding! I didn't want to wire a backup camera to turn it on when reversing, so I just ran a cable through the top of the car and placed the backup camera in the car. It still records great. The only possible complaint is the poor video quality in the dark, but the footage is still serviceable if you ever get into an accident at night. It's also just a reflection of the price of that particular DVR. As long as you expect realistic results from a sub-$100 camera, you're fine.
