This is definitely a nice improvement to our front entry. We've had two compliments so far on this new mount (although admittedly it replaced an old oriental-style ball mount that was partially melted and full of cobwebs, so... yes, it should be better, right?) Installation was quite difficult. Difficult (as stated by other reviews) due to the inconvenience of working on the ceiling when trying to connect the light to the electrical wiring there. One suggestion if you're only going to be doing this with a pair of hands: get a ladder or other platform that you can position on the ceiling to mount the unit by connecting it to the wiring. Overall we thought it was good. Buy it and recommend it to those who have hands or have good handyman services to install. One last thing... Other reviewers have mentioned that the bottom cover can break easily. We thank the reviewers for pointing this out. We placed two standoffs to connect the 3/4 inch tubing between the glass section of the bottom panel and the inner seat to avoid over stressing the lower frame glass. We also tried not to overtighten the center cap. slightly more effort to ensure these spacers were in place during installation but obviously worth being a little careful with the framed glass.
