Review on Reese Towpower 7018100 Black Canoe Loader by Devin Jenkins

Works perfectly! suitable for towing devices and cable winches

Now I'm getting older and I don't have the strength I used to have to load my canoe onto a 4x4. This loader makes it easy to load the canoe yourself. I recently bought a new SUV so this loader really controls the canoe while loading without denting or scratching my new car. However, there are a few points to consider. It takes about three hands-on trials to determine the most efficient way to use the bootloader. First, I load my canoe from the side, perpendicular to the car, not straight from behind (see photo). I also tie the canoe wheel cart to the top of the end of the canoe that will be resting on the ground. I pull the canoe to the car. Once in the loading position I attach the other end to the loader's T-bar, the wheel carriage stabilizes the canoe rather than trying to balance on the bow of the canoe and then dragging it across the ground while loading (see photo ). In addition, the loader is supplied with a bolt and a locking pin. The security pin was so tight that I couldn't open or close it without a screwdriver. That was a real problem. Bolts don't make sense either. Bolt would have liked the bootloader to be hard-wired, but it isn't. So I went to the local hardware store and bought two safety pins, which were much easier to open and close (see photo). Installing, adjusting and removing the loader is now a breeze. I also tied a few knots on the elastic cord to shorten it a bit (see photo). A shorter bungee is stiffer and will hold the canoe better on the loader. I also had to use four zip ties to attach the self-adhesive rubber pad (they protect the canoe) to the loader's T-bar (see photo). Loading the canoe takes about 15 minutes. All in all a really great product (with a few tweaks). I would highly recommend this to anyone. Well done Reese and Revane!
