Will hold the canoe in the back with great difficulty

I don't know why it has such a good rating. Yes, it will work if you ditch almost everything that comes with the kit, rubber padding, straps, bungee, and then figure out how to make it work yourself. If you don't understand this, don't buy because you won't be happy. It rattles VERY at speed so you need to secure the receiver hitch with a sway bar and then buckle up. Basically, what is shown worked, but did not stop experimenting. The panels shown are from the Canoe Roof Panel Kit. It's on a…

Great product - works as advertised

You know you've won when the guys at Bass Pro Shop say "No kidding (well they're not kidding) this thing spins why if we don't sell them they load a lot better.” This was after I bought a 14ft 89lb canoe that they wanted to load for me. I said no, it's a test to see how the loader works and see if I can do it on my own or not. While they watched me load the canoe with minimal effort. The quote was that they should sell the product. It works as advertised, lift one end, lift the other and go…

Carried an 80 lb canoe across Colorado and back with no problems.

I have read most of the bad reviews and will say that a charger is only as strong as the coupling it sits on. If the clutch has even a little play, this play will be increased by the length of this loader. I pulled the hitch on the hitch and had no wobble issues even on gravel mountain roads. I agree with those who said bungee cord is useless. Once the first end is on the loader, tie it down with a rope or ratchet strap before taking the other end and swinging it. Another point: wipe the…

Great product for towing gear and winches

I wanted to buy a 17ft Lowe aluminum canoe but couldn't imagine what my 25 year old was like. The old 4 cylinder Toyota Camry could hold that length and weight on the roof. However, after reading customer reviews of this "trailer post", I ordered it along with an inexpensive hitch tensioner. There were already two easily removable roof rack bars, but when we put the canoe on it we only needed one roof rack because of the rear hitch rack. The canoe was tied tight at the front (tied across), once

Works great with external accessories

I'm getting older and pulling an 80lb canoe onto the roof of my Toyota Tundra is becoming a chore. I decided I had to find a better way to accomplish this task. I looked at more expensive options that are essentially the same product and settled on the Reese option. In terms of performance I can't think of any other options that work better, the Reese bootloader works as intended and works well. Once assembled and properly adjusted to fit my canoe and truck, there are no height issues. I bought

The best I've ever used!

I won't lie, I had serious doubts when I saw this item in the box. But once installed (I opted for the included adapter plate which allows towing with a ball hitch when using a canoe loader), install my large 15.5ft Ascend C156 canoe on top of it with the CURT 22321 Anti-Rattle Kit and plug it tight. This canoe loader is durable, with four ratchet attachments. I have an F150 Supercrew with 4 rear attachment points so I ran two ratchet ties over the canoe and attached them to the 4 attachment…

Works perfectly! suitable for towing devices and cable winches

Now I'm getting older and I don't have the strength I used to have to load my canoe onto a 4x4. This loader makes it easy to load the canoe yourself. I recently bought a new SUV so this loader really controls the canoe while loading without denting or scratching my new car. However, there are a few points to consider. It takes about three hands-on trials to determine the most efficient way to use the bootloader. First, I load my canoe from the side, perpendicular to the car, not straight from…
