Review on Reese Towpower 7018100 Black Canoe Loader by Drew Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Will hold the canoe in the back with great difficulty

I don't know why it has such a good rating. Yes, it will work if you ditch almost everything that comes with the kit, rubber padding, straps, bungee, and then figure out how to make it work yourself. If you don't understand this, don't buy because you won't be happy. It rattles VERY at speed so you need to secure the receiver hitch with a sway bar and then buckle up. Basically, what is shown worked, but did not stop experimenting. The panels shown are from the Canoe Roof Panel Kit. It's on a Dodge minivan. The strut assembly is so wobbly that it has to be strapped down to reduce or stop the movement. I will use it but I need to come up with my own unique strapping technique for my car. Oh I used the ratchet straps instead of the ones provided for better adjustment.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • A few little things
