I bought this product so I could have something small in my tool bag to sharpen a pencil when I was at work and needed to sketch or mark something exactly. The high price didn't bother me as the product seems well made and durable, but I'm very disappointed in its primary function as a pencil sharpener. Almost every time I use it, the lead in the pencil breaks. It's so frustrating to make multiple attempts just to sharpen a pencil. A utility knife works better. It's just not that pretty. Don't waste your money on this product! Borrow your children's plastic sharpener from their school book bag.
