This kettle boils water very quickly! Boiling ice water takes less than 5 minutes. Follow the directions and use distilled water. If this is not done, it very quickly clogs with deposits and lime. It has a safety feature, as soon as you remove the kettle from the stand, it will stop boiling. The bottle also doesn't boil when placed on the stand unless you press the button to latch it. It's 1 temp around so you don't have to worry about it. Just bring to the boil and pour into a mug. Apart from the fact that the kettle is heated by boiling water, no other heat comes from it. The base on which it is brewed feels cool after use.
