Shortly after purchasing this instrument I received a Vibrelli 19 instrument. For this reason I thought a comparison might be useful for those looking at the two instruments. The processing of the Crank Brothers instrument is much better. I don't know how important the finish is on an instrument that spends most of its life in obscurity, but if you're passing it on to a friend, maybe the finish matters. The body of the Crank Brothers tool is much better. I don't keep mine in a saddlebag in a case, so it's not a big deal, but a stainless steel case is still much more attractive than a nylon case. Both the Crank Brothers and Vibrelli instruments feel sturdy and durable. . They're both made from high-strength steel and I don't feel like I'm compromising with a standard shop tool when using them. These are really high quality tools. The weight of the Crank Brothers tool alone is 175g / 6.17oz, and in a clean case it's 218g / 7.69oz. The vibrelli tool alone weighs 183g / 6.45oz and in its boring nylon case it weighs 201g / 7.09oz.
