I can't give feedback on how this product works on its own as it is one of two mufflers on my diesel. I can say that my wife and I immediately noticed the difference in noise levels in the truck. Now I hear the engine more than the exhaust, which is what I wanted. The drone was a killer, especially when towing something uphill with a 5-inch exhaust without a muffler. I then installed a 51" Donaldson which helped a lot but didn't completely remove the hum and noise from the cabin. Now I have a 51 inch Donaldson in the back of the truck and this Hushpower right in front of it. The roar is almost completely gone and is fairly muffled even when pushing a truck. If the innards become covered with soot, the sound will change slightly. I gave 5 stars because it made a noticeable difference. I didn't have a chance to test the shock myself.
