Works cheaply

There is nothing to complain about with this coffee maker. Inexpensive, works, makes delicious coffee. A few notes on my first week: one or two reviewers noted that the coffee wasn't hot enough. These people must have tongues of steel because I definitely have to let my drink cool for about 5 minutes after pouring it or my mouth will burn. About the reusable basket. I agree that it should be tapered, not flat, and I find it odd that the mesh is only on the sides and not the bottom. Nevertheless, it does its job very well. But seriously folks, is it too hard to clean? It takes about 30 seconds to clean and reinsert the screen. save paper! About the deformed top. My parents have an old model of this coffee maker and the lid definitely warped when brewing. So far I haven't noticed any warping of the lid on this model and the plastic seems much heavier/stronger than the old model. I don't think it will be warped, but it will be updated if there are problems. Finally, something about the strength of the coffee. I noticed that this coffee seems to be a bit weaker than my old coffee maker. I'm not sure if this is because a) the grinder I use is different than my previous brand; b) the flat screen does not work as well as the cone/paper filter; or c) I just haven't found the sweet spot yet: water. All in all, if you are reading all of this, reconsider! This is a solid $20 coffee maker and if you hate it, buy another one in a year or two. EDIT: updated 11/26. In terms of coffee strength, the initial faint coffee flavor I noticed definitely came from the coffee grounds, not the manufacturer. Since I bought the best brand of ground coffee, my morning coffee comes out strong and hot!
