To be honest I have a hard time believing that these reviews actually refer to this pot. I'm not picky. I don't need a lot of frills to be happy. This pot is just rubbish. The brew pause does not work. Brewing is slow and if you finally decide to pick up the cup before it's brewed because most of the liquid is still in the grounds container, moving the pot will choke it back out. after reading other reviews that the coffee maker has many problems i had none of these problems i didn't have a smell of burning plastic either i ran some cold water in it to clean it. I put the right amount of water in and got the same amount of coffee back. The only issue I have is a permanent screen type filter on the sides instead of the bottom which makes the coffee weak.
