As a dialog speaker in a 5.1 surround sound system, we found the sound quality of this center speaker to be excellent. Our previous surround speakers were the compact Klipsch Quintet IIIs. There were two small midrange drivers and a tweeter in the center, but the sound (using the same AV receiver) was muddy with a narrower frequency response. This RP-250C is rich and action packed and the dialogue is really clear and easy to understand. The only drawback is the shape and the only tilting leg. It's deep and square, so be sure to check the dimensions for your space. (I thought about picking up the next model, but it's really huge.) A leg allows the speaker to tilt up towards the listeners when it's on the floor. But the leg is really just a bolt without a decent leg to support the weight. It works, but it looks lousy and can dent softwood floors.
