Really good but not the upgrade I was looking for

I wanted to see if this Klipsch RP-250C would be an upgrade for my Polk Audio Signature Series S35, but the Polk sounds a bit brighter and crisper in the language department. Klipsch is also huge in comparison so I left one that I could easily hang on the wall. That aside it still sounded like a great center channel and I would definitely keep it if I didn't have a Polk to compare it to because it was so much better than the old Cerwin Vega center channel I had. Loud enough and projects all…

Looks good! suitable for center channel speakers

I'm a beginner audiophile so take what I'm about to say with caution. Bought as center speaker for home cinema. Firstly the quality seems great, the speakers look great even without the front cover. The setup was pretty easy and they sound very clear and powerful. This is where my inexperience showed, for some reason I expected a stunning sound, but it's not the same at all. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great and I'm happy with it, but it definitely didn't blow my mind. In general I am…

Clear dialog and rich sound

As a dialog speaker in a 5.1 surround sound system, we found the sound quality of this center speaker to be excellent. Our previous surround speakers were the compact Klipsch Quintet IIIs. There were two small midrange drivers and a tweeter in the center, but the sound (using the same AV receiver) was muddy with a narrower frequency response. This RP-250C is rich and action packed and the dialogue is really clear and easy to understand. The only drawback is the shape and the only tilting leg…

I was also looking for a great stereo from the 80's.

I had an old but awesome stereo from the 80's that I wanted to upgrade. It contained some huge, amazing sounding old Cerwin Vega speakers and a pair of fairly new Polk Reference bookshelf speakers which I used as satellite speakers for use with an old Yamaha 5.1 stereo receiver. No center channel because the ones I've tried so far just didn't play well with the huge Cerwin Vega Horn speakers I have. with a sensitivity of 96. Plus, Vegas has always sounded better. Much better. Until now. I went…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Reliability

As an audiophile, all my money goes into my stereo setups with tube amps, SS high current amps, phono stages, MC trucks, etc. I'm not really into home theater and need not the biggest and best and since I care less about that I've always used very average consumer devices - I don't need the latest and greatest - 5.1 suits me. My amp is just a Yamaha RX-V375 - you get the point. My center channel was a Yamaha NS-C310BL and it has always been the weakest link in my system. Even with the use of a…
