Women's Fastener - The middle snap button is too long, so each one had to be sanded :(

I've found it almost impossible to get a clean crimp on a female fastener - even with a hand tool I bought for pressing/crimping fasteners It's pretty flimsy (same problem with the thicker one 20 gauge). But even when I first ground the stud to about half its original depth, it still didn't extrude evenly when using my tool. I even tried the standard snap - in the toolbox - same thing Result (see picture) Another clasp (dad I think) worked great but.
