I bought this lens for astrophotography. I use it on the Sony A7RII which has a great sensor that will reveal the flaws of almost any lens if you examine the pixels in the image. However, I find Sony's thick array of sensors tends to cause angle issues for wide-angle lenses like this. However, I'm happy with the images I've been able to achieve so far. The build quality is good, all metal. The lens is powerful but not heavy. The lens looks good. I like the feel of the aperture ring and the smooth focusing. Due to the geometry of the lens, I suggest leaving the metal hood in which the metal cap fits. For the price, aperture size, focal length, image quality and performance I am very happy with my purchase. I've attached two pictures that came straight from the camera as jpg. I'm new to astrophotography and last night I was in a rush to take pictures. Due to fog and 100% humidity, I often had to wipe the dew off the lens.
