A variety of straps are provided which can be tailored for a better fit. While I love that the Velcro is adjustable to grow with the pup, that should come with a serious caveat. I have 7 new bostons that are 1 week old so I needed collars to identify the babies in the videos I post. I hardly put them on and changed the puppy pad. I wanted to put it in the washing machine. When I came back, one of the puppies was just dangling his paws but not really moving, and then I noticed that there was a tiny piece of Velcro stuck to the pad and this baby was actually caught by the neck on the puppy mat. So I immediately took everything off. Maybe it was abused, I take responsibility, or it was taken away from my mother, but it was a very scary sight!
