OK, not very powerful, there are better alternatives

I have several Bluetooth speakers. I often use them with a 3.5 cable for computer recording or iPad playback. I have an original JBL Flip and Flip Mini rated at 10w stereo and 3w. I also have a stereo badge, small but mighty. The performance is different for different products. I considered buying a newer battery powered Flip but researched many alternatives. I chose this DOSS based on reviews and other articles. I was hoping the sound would be as loud as the JBL Flip at 10 watts per channel. When I plugged in my iPhone, the sound was very boomy, I think I was sitting at the table. The rounded shape of the JBL ensures that the sound reaches your ears everywhere. Here, when I position the speaker parallel to my ears, the sound is well balanced. Unfortunately, even then the volume was lower than with the JBL mini, not to mention the flip. The round shape might be better for you when sitting over the speaker. It has a cool backlight and I think it's waterproof and looks spectacular. I would recommend the fox eyed one at this company. This speaker should be around $30, not $50. I don't need the full volume of the original flip, but I do need headroom to get the speaker 2/3 up. This reached a low peak. If you want cheaper I would consider Insignia for $20 or less or DOSS for $30. If you're willing to shell out the extra $30, get a JBL Flip 3 or 4. JBL may have even outperformed Bose in this area. I returned it straight away. If it's loud enough for your room, den or pool, great. Lights (not my thing) waterproof sand SD card might be worth it. I need clarity and volume so I can play at 60% and not full power. There are so many of them and this company seems to make some decent speakers. You get the same sound for less money. For something extra, get JBL, that's the best.
