Review on Gray Liberty Pumps 257 Pump, 1.5 Inches by Donotello Figueroa

Failed after 3 months

I have had two Liberty drain pumps that have worked great for 5 years. I decided to replace the most used one in the basement of our second home to avoid problems. I bought a model 257, the same as I already had. The new pump simply stopped working three months after installation. My wife and I happened to be spending time in the house and I noticed that the sump was full of water in addition to the new sump bought in June. After a few manipulations with the float valve, it worked perfectly. I spoke to a representative from Liberty Pumps and he offered to ship me a new float switch. I don't think I'll have to fix my new sump pump myself. I asked if they had a float switch problem recently and he hesitated and said I didn't know. If you look at recent reviews of the Liberty drain pump, yes. My old Liberty pump ran every 2-3 minutes in rainy weather for five years. The new pump failed after three months of a dry summer. The shame is I wanted a different Liberty pump because apparently it was made in America. I bought a replacement Victory pump with a five year warranty from a local Northeast supplier. Yes, it's made in China :( If Liberty says yes, we have a problem with the switch supplier and we send you an updated switch, I'd feel better. If my basement drain pump fails, my basement will flood my furnace $$$
