Review on πŸ” Stud Finder Wall Scanner: Upgraded Smart 5-in-1 Multi-function Sensor for Metal, Studs, AC Wire, and Pipe Locator in Walls by Danny Badasz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Verifiable

I used to have a much simpler stud finder, but for a "simple" stud finder behind a flat surface it worked easier. The TH530, with its multiple scanning options, offers more confidence when the surface you are working on is not just a smooth surface. The house I just moved into has what appears to be ceiling paneling on the walls; not smooth or "orange peel" as is common in most households. The instructions explain how to use a thin, smooth piece of cardboard between the scanner and the wall. This works well allowing the scanner to slide easily when inspecting bolts, nails, wires, etc. I started with a 1/2 scan, checked a 1 1/2 inch scan and a metal scan and he found the exact location of the spikes. Very happy with the product. Air conditioner scanning is a huge plus that my simpler model didn't have. And it was easy to verify how it works by simply toggling the switch off and on again when the scanner changed readings, like I did. I would rate it a 5 if there was a way to "fix" the calibration. Depending on where you work and what type of space you need to work in, it might be a good idea to calibrate it, press the button to "hold" that setting, and then use it without the side button while while scanning. .
