It's working great for now

My 2007 VW GTI had 194,000 miles on it , and it began consuming oil at the manufacturer's maximum rate of one quart per 900 miles. I decided to take a chance and replace this part and now it uses about a liter every 4000 miles. The lowest oil consumption I have ever experienced with this almost new car is one liter per 5000 miles. So I think it's a resounding success and quite acceptable for the car given the mileage. I think this type of PCV with check valve will be short lived. But for the cost of 3 liters of oil and 4 minutes to install I can change it at every oil change and still get further. I'll just monitor the oil level every other fill up and if it rises again I'll change the PCV again. VW replaced my 4x under warranty and their latest iteration lasts about 120,000 miles. However, this was a different, more difficult to access design.
