I kept it at the lowest heat and did some quick soldering for my headphones to replace a splitting wire with jack, and turned it into a female port so I can just use an aux cable. It works fine for short-term use. I expect, the plastic will not hold up at maximum heat and prolonged usage, but for my purposes, it was very good for the price. Honestly, better than stuff that I bought from radio shack back in the day for more money. However, if I was at my father's home with a full soldering station, it honestly does not compare. We are talking about a 5-10x cost difference.
