If you need stereo mics and are on a tight budget, you'll love these mics. Please note that they are intended for recording instruments, not vocals. If you need vocals, look elsewhere. For my application, I needed an affordable set of microphones to record stereo acoustic guitar. For less than $60 these mics are awesome! Can you find the best stereo capacitors? Of course. The Rode M5 and Sterling SL30MP are great alternatives. But both cost about $100 more. If you have at least $200 to spend, get one of these models. The main difference with the Rode is that you get a little more bottom end right out of the box. With the Sterling set, the high frequencies are a bit shinier out of the box. These mics also make great on-camera mics for videos. In my experience the C-2 gives you a more balanced sound so you can sweeten it to your liking. So there really aren't any major downsides to getting a mic. In the end, it's more a matter of personal taste. You can also use them for drums or guitar amps. Can you make great recordings with your home DAW? YES SIR. The mics are solidly built and seem to last forever. I use mine with a Behringer UMC204HD audio interface and my recordings come out clean and crisp. I am very happy with the purchase.
