Stainless Steel License Plate Bolts

seem to be good except they are slightly smaller than the bolts currently found in my Fords and SUVs. I hoped to agree with what was there. They screw in so the threads are correct, but I can't tighten them. I'm sure they would work if it was a brand new car, but the old ones dictate the size and thickness of the hair :(
