I was looking for a microscope for personal use when messing around with electronics but I wouldn't need to use it often so I couldn't justify it, spending over $100 most of what they charge on Revain. I came across this microscope with standard features and was expecting an average product. The packaging comes in a nice box. The stand and base are aluminum and appear to be very durable. Assembly took 5 minutes. The microscope can move about 3 inches vertically. The magnification says it can do 50x-1000x. I doubt I'll ever use a 1000x zoom, but I was able to view SMD resistors and LEDs with no problem. The picture quality is fantastic. You can fine tune the focus on the camera and I haven't come across anything that I can't focus on yet. It even comes with a built-in rechargeable battery so it can be easily moved and stored. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. This makes the SMD reflow work easier and more enjoyable compared to my old helping hands + magnifying glass.
