My 8 year old was very happy about these pens! They work great! The colors are dense and rich, there isn't a strong smell of alcohol, and the bonus pens were a pleasant surprise (probably I didn't read the description carefully because they were a surprise to us. Haha!). I opened the cap on one of the markers and accidentally ripped off the entire cap and tip exposing the ink tube, but that's fine as the pen works fine once you put it back on. I'm assuming the cap needs to be removable since you can technically refill the markers with ink. Ink will bleed through regular paper (e.g., drawing pad or carbon paper) and somewhat through cardstock. I can buy marker paper if my child keeps using it for all of their drawings. I wish the pouch with the markers was a bit more rigid as the pouch tends to collapse if you take the pens out while using them. Can't comment on how long this will last as we haven't had it that long, but so far it's been a good buy.
