Review on Mission Automotive Hitch Tightener Hitches by Henry Brown

This tensioner was purchased for use with a steel scooter ramp and four wheel scooter. Both the ramp and scooter weighed just under 300 pounds, and the hitch we have is rated at 600 pounds. Our ramp bounces quite a bit when towing, so we hoped this would solve our problems. It didn't last a week. We followed the instructions as directed and even used threadlock on the screws to be sure. Nothing worked and our ramp started to sag a lot over time. We also found that the screws were loose. I don't mean a little loose, I mean a few turns loose, again with threadlock applied. The metal plate appears to be bent and the black coating is peeling off at the stress crack. I purposely bought a "Heavy Duty" product and it just folded over like a stick of toffee. In the event of an accident, we even remove the batteries from the scooter, reducing the weight by around 25 pounds. It didn't help. We really needed this to work, but unfortunately it let us down. I don't recommend this tensioner, it doesn't seem to have the power it needs.
