The earring is huge. It hangs on my John Deere alligator like a bag of ham. Security isn't very relevant to my setup, but if this has happened to a vehicle parked in a rough part of town you can be assured that no thief will steal it, they will just jack up your car and leave it alone to let. I have an old version of these braces that have no protection. This new brace is larger than my old version. It's hard to believe you need a bigger one unless it's installed on a rotator or rescue vehicle. But, as they say, the more the merrier.
