I bought this two years ago for water brewing but I quickly found that the tea infuser cartridge would do for cold brewing. This is now my cold brew pitcher for the summer months and I had to find something else for the water! We use it every day, wash it in the dishwasher and have had no problems. Of course, over time, mold will form on the rubber seal, so check it from time to time to remove, clean, and reinstall if necessary. Make sure you put it back in correctly or the jug will leak. As I said, I do a lot of cold brewing and have never had a problem with the wrong cartridge. For the curious, you can use fairly cheap cold brew coffee and still make a very smooth (not bitter) drink. It's very strong though, so I actually use semi-decaffeinated coffee so I don't have shakes if I'm drinking more than one glass a day. I've tried milk, coconut milk, oat milk, and soy milk. Tastes differ, but still good. Since it's cold, don't add sugar. I used liquid vanilla stevia, honey, sweetened condensed milk, and homemade flavored simple syrups. You really can't go wrong. Just mix up a batch the night before and you're good to go in the morning! I love mine so much I bought two more as gifts.
