When this item arrived and I opened it, the first thing I noticed was a large crack all over the top of the wooden storage box lid. Looking closer, I realized that this may have been the result of a cut. It was clearly torn on the inside of the lid. When I unpacked the contents of the package, I found that 2 plastic bottles of needles had cracked and the needles were spurting out. I also found that the small plastic box containing the buttons and rivets was open at one end and many of the buttons and rivets spilled into the wooden box. What a pain to go even though they are all separated by color and type. As I continued to rummage through the tools, I discovered that the large steel leather scissors and metal awl were missing from the box. The main reason for the damage seems to be very poor packaging. Never place thin plastic objects on the floor or heavy metal tools on it. Poor quality leather stamp. The fine details of the dies are lost during the manufacturing process, so when used for leather embossing they have no higher quality parts than heavier dies. You won't get a good, crisp image or design from these brands. I also noticed that the tip of the die started to bend after just a few strokes. This is something that should last for many years. The cutting mat, designed to protect your work surface, is thin and razors and leather knives will easily cut through this mat completely. The white thick punching pad is heavily concave, and after 4 days of heavy weight, the concavity remained on it. This is a problem because if a leather item is placed on it and you try to stamp that leather, the hammer will flatten and move the mat, which causes errors and can ruin your work. The other items I have not used but upon inspection they were of average quality, suitable for those who are just starting out in leather goods or do so from time to time. The seller promised to replace missing and damaged items when I contacted them about the issues but after a week of wasted time they just told me to send everything back for a refund. Trying to put everything back in the wooden box was like putting a jigsaw puzzle together and it took me a few tries before I finally got everything back in the storage box and ready to go back. I do not recommend buying this kit and certainly do not recommend buying from the seller I dealt with. Spend a little more money and buy a higher quality kit that will give you many years of service.
