Although the material seems good and heavy, it broke on first use. We drove 600 miles on the interstate and had no problems. This kept our luggage dry and in place in the car. Where I normally get 28-30mpg, I got 13-15mpg with this one. I definitely won't be using it on the roof of a car, but will probably use it to stow luggage in the back of a truck to protect it from the elements in the future. All in all, I don't recommend spending money on it. . I might not notice the terrible gas mileage, but I prefer not to, especially as it broke on first use.
