Cute bear is not yarn

I bought a blue teddy bear. The yarn was definitely cotton - not the kind I would use for baby clothes, but there was enough for something else. Was dk weight. Not combed. However, I bought it for a bear and wrapped it around another item. I want them to hug the animals separately. Yarn didn't work for me.
