Review on Ultimate Comfort for Women: Thorlos DWMXW Max Cushion Distance Walking Ankle Socks by Josh Cooper

Revainrating 5 out of 5

happy feet! suitable for outdoor activities

I'm having trouble finding a sock thick enough to protect my hammer toes on both feet as well as a very crooked middle toe on my right foot. It's all because I wear shoes that are way smaller than required, which I'm paying for as I get older! I read the reviews as well as the description of the sock (blister reduction was #1) and had a feeling they would "hopefully" fix these issues. And I can say that they surprised me! The socks are true to size, they have good cushioning in the toe and heel, there is arch support which seems to help with some of the pain I have due to my extremely high arch. Best of all, extra toe padding helps prevent blisters on the hammer toes of each foot. I also love the fact that this sock stays in place while walking which is a blessing. Especially since I had to order hiking boots a full size larger than normal so there was enough room in the toe area for my toes to splay. Yes. Really weird legs. The socks have been washed several times and always air dried. There was no shrinkage, but a nap is noticeable, so I replaced them with a Thorlo Unisex Distance Runner Set that I bought around the same time (not a big fan of those socks). Although I prefer the Distance Walker because it feels more snug and protects my feet much better. I actually got blisters on my toes when wearing the Distance Runner because they seem to stick together under my toes. As I walk an average of 2-3 miles a day I'm hoping these socks will last given the cost. I actually just bought another pair because I really like them. No cons, all the pros. I recommend them to anyone who runs a lot.
