This shroud, along with the appropriate flange kit, allows the use of Type 1 cutting blades. I also have a block/concrete diamond blade. It fits well and does what it's supposed to. A great addition to a great grinder. Dewalt is clearly a tool for the professional or DIY enthusiast who loves quality. D248932 is a flange kit. and also a flange tool.
