Very good quality ladders

This is a very stable platform which as an elderly woman I really like. I bought this for my 17ft Little Giant ladder and it works great when the ladder is used as a 'frame'. I obviously didn't think it through enough, I had to climb the ladder at the back and climb over the top to get onto the platform on the side I wanted to work on. I don't see how I can safely use this when the ladder is straight. Maybe someone can explain how to do it safely.
