I read some reviews that after adding sand the tank was difficult to clean but I pre-rinsed mine for a few days. I ended up adding 80 pounds to my 60 gallon tank that I am planting to add cichlids. I think it's maybe a little too much and could work satisfactorily at 60-70 pounds, but it still looks good. The water became 95% clear within 24 hours. I will level the substrate to my liking and should leave a 3 inch depth at the bottom of my tank. The granules have a diameter of 1 to 3 mm. So far things are looking good.
