When I opened it I didn't smell it. I bought this for myself. Came in a plastic bag. Unfortunately, when I opened the package, I could smell it on my throat at that moment! I'm allergic to mold. If you give it away, it will be insulting. It smells like the basement of an old thrift store. Her cane was kept in a damp and moldy place, and the mold had entered the pockets. They MUST be washed before wearing. However, they are nice and soft. Such a shame. I would never gift anything like this from this seller! It was a horrible experience. Obviously the scarf was never wet, just kept in an ugly place!
