Now I can change the oil myself.

It's strange to have such a special oil outlet for Toyota. However, it works great and has allowed me to save a ton of money by changing the oil myself.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Zero

Broke on first use!

I used this to change the oil on my 2009 Highlander and it broke on the first try. It broke the end of my ratchet and sent pieces under the car cover and my knuckles into the car. I wish I could give my hand less than one star.

  • Price
Cons

Works perfectly! Rescuer.

Works great. After breaking a cheaper wrench trying to remove a severely stuck filter cap on my 2014 Tundra (installed before me by the owner), this wrench held up. A 24-inch breaker was required to loosen. This made additional ledges. I would highly recommend, especially for the price.

The tool worked great.

Thank you Toyota for turning a simple fluid change into an engineering project that requires a special tool! :( The tool did an excellent job removing the filter cap which was obviously installed with a impact tool instead of a torque wrench. Do not overtighten the filter cap as the seal is tight. Also remember to apply a light film of oil to the Poetry.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Minor Repairability

Does what he should. Thumbs up

Ideal for removing and tightening the oil filter housing. This allows you to tighten the filter housing to the required torque without at the same time over tightening the small screw at the top center of the housing (the small screw is for conveniently draining the oil from the housing before removing the entire housing). filter unit).

  • handy

I'm glad I didn't have to use too much force to...

Filter cup broke on first use. A piece of one of the side grooves broke off and a crack formed along it. Upon closer inspection, a crack was also found on the opposite side. I'm glad I didn't have to exert too much effort to remove the filter, if it had broken during use it could have been a painful experience. I think the black paint might have been enough to hide the cracks from quality control.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Almost ok

Material Issue: Oil Filter Wrench

The original ad says it is high strength aluminum. It's either cast or die-cast (both less durable) and painted silver to make it look like a smooth aluminum finish. It has "pull" (required for pouring) which means the sides are not at right angles to each other and are tapered. So the tightness to the oil filter is not so good. I showed it to the mechanic. He said he saw them break when first used. I bought a steel one instead and will be selling it at a flea market for a few bucks.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Requires Drive Socket

Works well: Oil System Tools

Bought for my 2016 Tacoma with a new Atkins V6 engine. It's really interesting what Toyota was thinking when they installed this filter system. This dates back to the 40's when the oil canister was removed from the engine and the canister had to be removed to gain access to the filter. This "socket wrench" tool fits snugly onto the canister. Unlike a socket, which can be turned any way you want and still fit a nut, this tool only fits in one position. It has a slot that needs to be placed on…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Literally broke on first use. I read the reviews and knew there was a chance, but a higher quality tool was in reserve so I took a chance and bought this one. I've changed a lot of oil and seen a lot of crappy keys. Although this one is deceptive. See below. I had two main problems with this tool. First, low-grade metal. The 3/8" ratchet hole on the top rounded before it even remotely worked. I've already drained the oil so there's no turning back. With the big socket on the tool, I finally got

Pros
  • Nice packaging

  • There are problems
