This is a review based on first impressions. It will be updated as I gain more experience with the product. The panel is bright, beautiful, responsive and accurate. However, I haven't seen one that isn't defective. The first one I bought had at least 11 dark spots and 3 light spots. This is totally unacceptable for a premium product designed for photo editing and detail work. Since they are in short supply I have sent them to Asus for warranty repair/replacement. Asus does not ship warranty products and the stated processing time is 5-10 business days. Including shipping, that means about a month without a monitor. I ordered a second monitor as soon as they became available again at a price close to the RRP. Just like the first one, this one was defective. I counted 8 dark spots and a whole sea of smaller lighter (mostly green) spots in very prominent places (top middle of the panel). Needless to say I will be returning it. Incidentally, the "zero light point" guarantee allows for up to 5 dark spots. This is also unacceptable as dark spots can be just as bad if not worse than light spots. For a monitor in this price range, any number of defective pixels upon arrival is unacceptable. Imagine spending over $1,000 on a monitor only to stare at a constellation of very obvious dark spots and being told to live with it (see attached image). Totally crazy. We use 32" Dell panels at work and I haven't found one yet with NO dead pixels, dark or light. Why can't Asus fix this? -defective monitor. Will be updated as development progresses. This one would get 5 stars if it weren't for the ridiculously poor quality control. [Update 05/13/2022] I received a 'fixed' unit from Asus which appears to be internally dusty . Not as bad as the device I sent, but still not acceptable. I counted at least 8 dark spots (one in the center of the screen with a 4 pixel radius) and at least one bright spot (pink) when I received the monitor within minutes of testing. It's going back to Asus again [Update 05/18/2022] I really really wanted to like this monitor. It had great specs and the idea was ALMOST well executed. However, after testing 4 devices, including one that was "fixed" by Asus, and finding each to be faulty in the same way (at least 7 very obvious dead ls pixels in each), I give up. A 100% failure in 4 samples is unacceptable no matter how good a working product is. Now I'm convinced that this monitor only exists on paper and that Asus can't make it, which is a shame because until now I've only had good things to say about 2003 Asus products and recommend them in general . I can no longer do this in good faith. If Asus wants me to keep reviewing their products, they need to start paying me for my time. Also, the firmware seems very buggy: I have to restart my monitor (and sometimes my computer) several times to connect it via HDMI. and let it receive a USB-C signal from another computer when it wakes up from sleep mode. [TL:DR]: Don't buy it.
