Great inexpensive tool. I use it exclusively for marking metal (aluminum, steel) before cutting. If you want accurate cuts, you need to take accurate measurements and then mark them correctly - nothing beats a scriber. I've used both ends for line markers - so far there haven't been any problems with either aluminum or (carbon) steel. . As you would expect the line drawn on the steel is smaller - I paint the surface with a marker and then draw - the line drawn really stands out against the background of the marker.
