Although the gate is tall and flexible enough for our Dalmatian pup to grow, it is not very strong and our pup was able to chew off one of the metal latches on the gate. Luckily there are two latches on the door and we were able to use a carabiner to replace the other latch. We also use two pool noodles that we cut lengthwise for stability when using the rectangular handle. If we try to use the pen in any other way, the puppy (12 weeks old) can move it around the room very easily. It's still a useful product and we recommend it for the price.
