Review on πŸ”Œ Poniie PN1500 Portable Electricity Usage Monitor - Power Consumption Watt Meter Voltage Amp Tester (110V, 1500W) by Bryce Wohlman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I LOVE this electronic device

What can I add to the already 270+ reviews? I had and never had a single watt, instead I started with this as I read a lot of reviews saying this device was easier to use and more durable (it was cheaper too). When you plug it in for the first time without making any settings, the default setting is the number of watts consumed. I hooked up our standard box fan to it for the first test since the fan was close by and handy, and was shocked to see the fan draw almost 170 watts at high power. Well, that tells me a lot. We have a 4 panel solar system installed in our house across the street that we are renovating and it has no power (and hasn't for a long time as the house needs to be gutted). Each of my panels is rated at 100 watts, giving the system a total of 400 watts, but that's nominal, not real-time. Each probably produces 80 watts on a nice sunny day. That tells me the box fan we're using there takes up 2 out of 4 of our production panels right away. I have yet to calculate the lamp and see what we use there with other small items that we use from time to time. That's a lot of solar panels to turn on a fan. half of our rparray! I can already see and can only conclude from this which part of my system is connected. I can't wait to hook up an AC window unit and see how many watts it takes to run it and how many kWh it uses. This will help me decide how many more panels to add to my solar array. With this device, I should be able to accurately estimate how large a solar array would need to be to ever go offline. . Or maybe build a part rig on an off-grid grid. LOVE IT
