These items were smaller and easier to install than you might think. I bought (4) and put one in each of our bedrooms. The instructions specify a 5mm (3/16) diameter drill bit for plastic plugs. To be honest, they are so light you might not need plastic drywall caps. I bought another set and installed it from my mother in law and just screwed the screws right into the wall. One thing you have to get used to. These are LED strobe lights that flash approximately every 15 seconds. The first night it drove me crazy, the second night half crazy, the third night it bothered me a bit, the fourth night it barely bothered me, and by the end of the week I didn't even notice it anymore . It's like the light on your watch. I recommend them and have bought them twice. Extremely quick and easy to install.
