I was hoping this would work. I read the reviews on this device and it was a gamble at best. I've reinforced the main power paths with wire and solder to address any potential issues. I'm sure this will void any warranty, but I was willing to take the risk. The auto function never worked, I was hoping for it but it doesn't work and I don't know if I corrupted it with my mods or not. It had manual input to declare the switch, which I did, although it worked inconveniently. But I could never get good welds. I used 0.15mm thick strips and a fully charged 12v car battery and tried different power levels from level 10 to 99, eventually blown one of the FETS. I only make hobby batteries and have no battery assembly experience at all and that was part of my learning experience. If you want to build hobby batteries, don't buy these. Spend $100 more to buy one that fits in the wall. That's what I intend to do after buying it for about $140. that's part of my education. I haven't contacted the seller of this device since I modified it and I don't blame them, I'm sure it can work somehow but I don't think it was the right choice for me.
