maybe for better alignment but the problem will remain for some.

The PRNDL light on my 1995 Ford Explorer was off because the bracket broke as happens with age. The specifications for this product indicate that it is not suitable for this model year. Many new items often fit, but don't say they will fit older models. I decided to give it a try instead of replacing the entire knot. Made this year. Depending on the geometry of the device, the cable and adjustment tube should be aligned approximately 30 degrees directly from the cable attachment bracket. can wear out over time. Until then, I plan to eventually replace the block with an exact replacement. You can rotate the block a little on its mounting screw, perhaps for better alignment, but the problem remains to some extent. This article got the job done on my Explorer 95.
