Review on 🔌 Plastic Mechanical Clean-out Plug, 3.5" Hub - SAFE-T-SEAL MTP352 by Paul Stocks

The drain pipe from the toilet was clogged and I had to remove the entire toilet down to the floor to get to the drain. Thought if this happens again I'll make my job easier next time. the cleaning plug has not been removed since we have been here (20 years) and painted over with the cast iron pipes. Who knows if it was ever removed. Plan A: An attempt was made to remove the existing plug, but the square brass head was starting to round the corners. Can't open it like this. Plan B: It's time to try prying the connector out with a chisel and cutting it off with a power tool. First I had to find a replacement. I went through a few chains and couldn't find my size (3 1/2" diameter). This GT Water Products Safe-T-Seal combination cleaning plug is perfect and I mean a perfect replacement. It costs more than those typical white pvc connector at the hardware store (which I couldn't find in my size).The brass connector will come out.When you do this, be careful not to fall off any parts.You can use a good piece of tape such as duct tape or other to secure it The best thing about the GT connector is that it comes in two parts, the outer rubber rim and the inner plug, unscrew two, insert the rubber part (it shouldn't fall off, it'll be nice and comfortable if you get the right size choose), leave it flat or slightly open, then screw in the inner part due where the rubber expands to cover the hole. With the rubber part, you don't have to worry if the old thread is damaged and we If you have trouble screwing in a hard PVC plug, etc. . No sewer smell? work is done! I'm glad I didn't have to go to plan C which required extra work. A NOTICE. Doesn't look like the picture, the inside is black instead of blue. Blue would have looked prettier, like a fancy cleaning plug, but black would do just fine. I'm so glad I ordered a few other sizes for my parents' house.
